The White Sox are a game out of first place in the American League Central Division. Under colorful Manager Ozzie Guillen they are 16-17. Jose Contreras has improved, and the Right-hander has shown good stuff lately. The Sox are a streaky team which has won two out of their last three events, and they can do well on this Road Trip.

The Mariners trail the American League West Division at 14-22 under their Manager John McLaren. They are on a 1-8 losing run, and have only scored more than three runs once during this skein. Carlos Silva gets the nod tonight for the Mariners. The Right-hander is is 4-9 with a 5.55 ERA in 18 career appearances including 16 starts against the White Sox. In four starts against them last season, he was 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA.

Gold Key Play, CLEVELAND -2 Over Boston (NBA Playoffs, 8 et) (WINNER)

The Cavaliers under Head Coach Mike Brown have their backs against the wall after failing to steal a win on the Road in this Series. F/C Wallace will probably miss this event, but he has not been a great positive for his new team this year anyway. The Cavs are still the defending Eastern Conference Champs, and have no choice but to play hard this evening. Almost all trends are negative for the Cavaliers here, with the exception of 5-0 Straight Up in this match up at Home.

The Celtics under their Head Coach Doc Rivers took care of business at Home in Games One and Two of this Series. Their Defense has been strong throughout the season, although sometimes their Offense gets bogged down. The Celtics have the best record in the League and must be respected, although they need to show they can also win on the Road in the Playoffs.

The line opened at Cavaliers -1 and moved up. We'll go with the Home Cavs to win for us here tonight in a Gold Key Play.

FRIDAY MAY 9

Gold Key Play, Lakers +5 Over UTAH (NBA Playoffs, 9:05 et) (Push)

The Lakers under long-tenured League Head Coach Phil Jackson won their 10th game in a row Straight Up, and covered their eighth game in a row Against The Spread in Game Two. They will face their toughest task in this Series this evening IMHO -- on the Road in a "Do or die" situation for their rival which is a great Home team. They should expect to have calls go against them here, unlike Games One and Two. Positive trends for the Lakers include 29-13 ATS on the Road, 15-1 ATS on the Road when the Total is this high, and 4-0 ATS this year when leading in the Playoffs.

The Jazz under their long-tenured Head Coach Jerry Sloan were taken out of their game plan in Games One and Two, but now get to play under friendly confines. It's less likely they'll see the early foul trouble that has plagued them so far in this match up. The Jazz show almost all Positive trends for this event, and must be respected. As well the SU winner of this match up has covered the last seven games ATS.

THURSDAY MAY 8

Gold Key Play, BOSTON -8.5 Over Cleveland (NBA Playoffs, 7:05 et) (WINNER)

The Celtics under their Head Coach Doc Rivers struggled to gain the victory in Game One of this Series, and they were indeed pitiful on Offense. But tonight is another night, and they should make amends before hitting the Road for two events. Positive trends for the Celtics include 8-2 Against The Spread as Home Favorites in this point range, 5-1 ATS after scoring 85 or less points, and 22-16 ATS versus winning teams.

The Cavaliers under Head Coach Mike Brown gave themselves every chance to win Game One, but failed down the stretch. F James had one of the worst games of his career, and can be dangerous on the rebound here. While the Cavs are 5-1 ATS at the Celtics recently, they covered their first game ATS in their last 11 SU losses on Tuesday. Negative trends for the Cavs include 0-3 ATS when the Total is in this point range, and 5-10 ATS after allowing 85 or less points.

WEDNESDAY MAY 7

Gold Key Play, Over 210.5 Total Points, Utah at LAKERS (NBA Playoffs, 10:35 et) (WINNER)

The Jazz gave themselves every chance to win Game One of this Series by out-rebounding and also putting 22 more shots up than the Lakers, but failed to convert. They must press hard to put points on the board this evening to try to grab a win on the Road. Coach Sloan has a powerful Offensive team, and should use its attributes to the fullest. Trends favoring the Over in Jazz events include 62-45 Over Against The Spread versus poor Defensive teams, and 4-2 Over ATS on the Road in this match up.

The Lakers under long-tenured League Head Coach Phil Jackson won their ninth game in a row, and covered their seventh game in a row in Game One. They had rest before their last game which seemed to produce no injuries, and should be strong on the Offensive end again here. Trends favoring the Over in Lakers events include 25-12 Over ATS as Home Favorites in this point range, and 7-2 Over ATS when the Total is in this point range.
